  • He officially enrolls in the University of Havana for the Doctorate Degree of Law and Public Accountancy. His academic record is No. 1308. He lived on Calle Quinta No. 8, between 2 and 4 streets, La Sierra neighborhood.

  • The principal of the High School Institute No. 2 of Vedado, Dr. Ambrosio Aguilar Hernández, certifies the Diploma of High School Graduate and issues Fidel the supporting diploma.

  • He becomes involved with the Grupo Guamá, an institution specializing in Archaeology.
03/04/1946
  •  He is elected students’ delegate for the subject of Legal Anthropology.

  • Fidel is elected vice-president of the University Students’ Federation in the Faculty of Law.
30/09/1946
  • Fidel takes part in the demonstration in tribute to the student martyr Rafael Trejo, killed during the tough years of Gerardo Machado’s dictatorship.

  • El Mundo newspaper announces Fidel Castro will be the main speaker at the ceremony for Students Day on November 17. The headline reads: “Delegate Fidel Castro to Speak on International Students Day.”

  • He is the main speaker at the Ceremony for International Students Day at the Law School of the University of Havana.
27/11/1946
  • Fidel gives a speech at the Ceremony for the 75th Anniversary of the Execution of the Eight Students of Medicine. His words were later published in the Avance Criollo newspaper. His words savagely attack the government of the time. He says: “this government is worse than the previous ones; it has killed the faith of an entire people.”

  • He occupies the Presidency of the Association of Law Students, after the dismissal of the acting President due to his inability to lead the students and his links to interests outside of the university
