The installation was part of the programme of activities celebrating Commander in Chief’ Fidel Castro’s 80th birthday.  The ensemble refers to the Royal Palm tree and reminds us of the place in the Sierra Maestra where the Granma expeditionaries met after the battle of Alegría de Pío. Cuban artists painted their works on the leafy palm fronds and at the time they were invited to the inauguration of the  "La capilla del hombre" (Mankind’s Chapel), the last work of Oswaldo Guayasamín.
