- Appearance on “Ante la Prensa” (Meet the Press) T.V. broadcast letting the public know about the basic aspects of the Agrarian Reform the Revolution was planning to undertake and announcing the withdrawal of the US military mission from Cuba.
- A visit to the National Police headquarters. Interview granted to Cuban journalists where he stated the following: “With no dictatorship now, the people need not fear going to a police station. Police are there to look after the interests of the people, who are the ones paying”.
