WFDY Condemns US Blockade of Cuba

The World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY) condemned on Wednesday the almost-fifty-year-old financial, economic and trade blockade imposed by the United States on the Cuban people.

Dayron Robles Tours Hurricane-hit Areas

110 meter hurdles Olympic champion and world record holder Dayron Robles toured several areas of the eastern Baracoa municipality that were affected by the passing of Hurricane Ike Robles, along eastern Guantanamo province authorities, visited the Nibujon district, virtually erased by the hurricane, as well as the seafront area, hit twice this year by strong  waves, that caused hundreds of houses to collapse.

We Will Recover Everything We Had, Says Raul Castro

Cuban President Raul Castro said people should feel the need to work more. He was speaking in a meeting with local residents of the municipality of La Palma, Pinar del Rio, one of the areas most affected by hurricanes Gustav and Ike. He assured those in attendance that they will recover everything they had.
